Travel guides – writers wanted

Avalon Travel Publishing is seeking professional writers to author several Moon Handbooks. THESE ARE CONTRACT POSITIONS, NOT FULL-TIME OFFICE JOBS.

The list of titles we are actively seeking authors for include:

  • Moon South Africa
  • Moon Cambodia
  • Moon Mumbai & Goa
  • Moon Delhi, Agra, & Rajasthan
  • Moon Bali
  • Moon Mexico’s Copper Canyon

The writer should live in the country or city for which they are applying for, or must have very close ties to the area and visit often. The writer must be very knowledgeable about the area’s attractions, should be able to provide strategic planning advice for travelers, and should have previous experience writing about the destination.

ATP writers are compensated with an advance and royalty. These guidebooks will be in the Moon Handbooks format, and the writer selected to be the guidebook author will be responsible for updating the book every two to three years.

In the cover letter, explain why you are the best person to write the specific Moon guidebook for which you are applying.
