Write for Classic Boat Magazine, UK
This is a freelance writer’s position, and well worth a look if you’re into writing and boats.
Classic Boat is a monthly magazine covering beautiful classic yachts and traditionally-designed workboats in all sizes and type, from any era, and made from any material. They consider features on restorations, cruising and technical articles, events, news, opinions and reviews.
Prospective contributors are strongly advised to read a few copies of the magazine to gain an idea of its style and requirements. Read their guidelines first too.
Length: 500-2,000 words. News items may be 100 words.
Submissions: Will accept e-mails, but prefers to receive copy on disk, together with a hard copy.
Pay: £75-90 per page (pro rata) for words and pictures, and approx. £100 per 1,000 words for text.
Rights: First British serial rights, and occasionally will buy second rights, too.
